Controller

Description

We are offering a rewarding opportunity for a Controller in the Construction/Contractor industry, based in Richmond, Virginia. As a Controller, you will be entrusted with the financial management of our operations, including overseeing the financial statement process, month-end close, cash flow analysis, and cost accounting. This role will require proficiency in various accounting software systems and functions, as well as in-depth knowledge of accounts payable and receivable, auditing, budget processes, and financial analysis.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the financial statement process to ensure accuracy and efficiency
• Conduct regular month-end closures to maintain up-to-date financial records
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations to verify account balances and rectify discrepancies
• Conduct comprehensive cash flow analysis to monitor the company's financial status
• Manage cost accounting to optimize resource allocation and reduce costs
• Oversee Accounts Payable to ensure timely and accurate payment processing
• Manage Accounts Receivable to ensure timely collection of payments and minimize bad debts
• Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards
• Oversee budget processes to ensure financial efficiency and cost-effectiveness
• Perform financial analysis to provide insightful financial data for decision making.
  
  

Requirements

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions
• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Familiarity with Auditing procedures
• Ability to execute Budget Processes efficiently
• Strong skills in Financial Analysis
• Previous experience in the Construction/Contractor industry would be advantageous
• Ability to work well in a team and independently
• Excellent communication, organizational and multitasking skills
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is a must
• Relevant professional certification, such as a CPA, would be a plus
• Proven track record of working as a Controller or similar role
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Strong analytical thinker with good numerical skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws regarding accounting, finances, and taxation.
