What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cost Accountant position at Robert Half?
Robert Half has partnered with a growing government contractor in Arvada in search of a Cost Accountant! The Cost Accountant will be the right hand to the Controller and is paying $70,000-$85,000!
The Cost Accountant will be responsible for the following:
- Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
- Become well-versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations
- Take part in various department-wide initiatives
- Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management
- Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
- Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
- Assist with the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close
- Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations
Requirements for the Cost Accountant include:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2 years of full-cycle accounting experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Preferred qualifications for the Cost Accountant include:
- Government contractor experience
- DCAA and FAR experience
