What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deputy CFO position at Robert Half?
Long Island City, NY based non profit organization is looking to hire a Deputy CFO. This person will report into the CFO and help them manage a team of 10 . They are in the office 4 days/week, so are seeking locally based candidates only.
The Deputy CFO works in concert with the CFO and in collaboration with members of the Finance and senior management teams to provide a system for oversight of agency grants and contracts, including cost allocation, development and monitoring of budgets, contract reporting, revenue vouchering and collection processes. The Deputy is a key member the senior management team. As the right-hand person to the CFO, this position provides leadership and strategic direction for the Finance department and may be called upon to serve as a surrogate in the CFO’s absence.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Oversee the grants and contracts management systems, including cost allocation plans; integrating organization’s annual budget and restricted funding; and monitoring the approval, budget modification, contract reporting, revenue vouchering and collection and audit processes.
2. Work with executive, senior and program managers to maximize financial outcomes for government contract and grants through cost analysis support, compliance with contractual and programmatic requirements, and ensuring that government regulations are effectively communicated.
3. Coordinate the accurate and timely preparation and distribution of monthly variance reports for all operating units. Prepare monthly summary of contract vouchering and other activity related to contract/grants management.
4. Collaborate with CFO and members of the senior management team on development and monitoring of agency-wide annual plan and budget.
5. Provide direction and supervision of contract/grants management team. Review vouchers submitted and budgets developed as part of the request for proposal process and contract budget modifications. Provide leadership and advice to all members the Finance team as needed.
6. Provide leadership and advice on the development and implementation of fiscal policies and procedures and internal controls.
7. Prepare and submit annual indirect cost recovery proposal based on the audited financial statements and the OMB A-133 audit report.
8. Prepare and submit annual consolidated financial report (CFR) in a timely manner.

Requirements
• Accounting/Finance Degree
• 10 years Non-profit finance experience
• Previous experience in a CFO/VP/Director of Finance capacity
• Experience with a variety of funding sources – city, state, federal, foundations, donations etc.
Salary : $150,000 - $180,000
