Our reputable client is seeking a Director of Finance to join the company on a contract / temporary-to-permanent basis. The director of finance must have strong leadership, management, technology, analytical, strategic planning, and communication skills in order to be a part of the management team. Your responsibilities
- Direct risk management
- Decide on benchmarks for comparing the operating and financial performance
- Aid in developing department goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures- Collaborate with department managers to develop business plans
- Direct, review, and prepare budget management and financial planning functions
- Oversee the preparation of all financial reports
- Perform analysis on operating results, comparing against budget
- Comply with all budgetary reporting requirements, including local, state, and federal
- Manage the preparation of financial outlooks and financial forecasts
- permanent and train employees, especially finance staff, and manage retention
- Develop financial analysis prior to contract negotiations and product investment decisions
- Review and maintain budgeting and forecasting models
- Design, establish, and maintain an organizational structure to effectively accomplish the departments goals and objectives
- Supervise all operations of the finance and accounting department
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
- 10 years of accounting and finance experience
- 5 years of finance and accounting leadership experience
- Experience with QuickBooks preferred
- Strong knowledge of cost control, budgeting, accounting, and finance principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Experience with higher level functionality in Microsoft Excel
- Very detail oriented and expert analytical thinking skills
- Experience with multiple accounting and financial reporting systems
- MBA or CPA is preferred
