Description We have a pressing need for a flexible and determined Financial Analyst for this entry-level role in Stamford, Connecticut. Are you an achievement-oriented critical thinker with an excitement for analysis? This is a great Financial Analyst position. In this role, you will provide daily support to the accounting and finance departments as well as perform routine assignments and solve routine/standard problems with limited discretion. Key responsibilities
- Federate and analyze budgets and income statement forecasts
- Be instrumental in ensuring adequate controls and procedures
- Help out in the devising of monthly financial reporting and other business data
- Explore and query an immense amounts of data
- Design innovational alternatives and new ways to reduce costs and reform financial performance of a company
- Back a few different aspects of the monthly/quarterly/annual close process (i.e. journal entries, account reconciliations, expense analysis, and trend analysis, variance analysis)
- Support internal and external auditors during financial and operational audits
- Examine conclusive results at the corporate and division levels
- Reinforce the monitoring and maintaining internal accounting controls to ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements
- Help in annual budgeting process
- May be required to teach non-financial staff members on complicated financial subjects in special assignments Requirements - Less than one year of experience required
- Great attention to detail
- Excellent verbal, written, and social skills
- Able to work independently with a minimal amount of oversight
- BA/BS degree in finance or a related field
- Firm understanding of problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel
- Solid computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software, as well as databases and customer database systems
