Robert Half is seeking candidates to join a fast-growing, dynamic team, for a Financial Analyst position that will be a key business partner in forecasting, performance reporting, and expense management. Located in the Redford, Michigan, area, this Financial Analyst role is a long-term contract / contract / temporary to permanent employment opportunity. We are seeking Financial Analyst candidates who are comfortable with conducting financial modeling on various financial products, as well as measuring, analyzing and forecasting performance in conjunction with operating plans. Among the Financial Analyst's other duties will be advising management on the allocation of resources to best accomplish objectives and preparing reports for management.
Major responsibilities
- Ideal candidate would have an adaptable nature and experience dealing with vast amounts of information while exceeding expectations
- Review annual performance by comparing actual results to their expectations
- Present and monitor forecasting reports
- Empower effective Business Intelligence (BI) to provide forward-looking insight and decision support
- Lead monthly reporting to business partners on financial results and actions required
- Perform extensive research on the underlying internal and external drivers that are affecting performance and trending
- Participate in planning with senior executives on strategic deep dives by developing financial models and insights on topics such as: Retention forecasts, Campaign Planning & Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, event tracking and execution, strategic resource allocation, and prioritization
- Assess potential risks and opportunities and research performance
- Work closely with business partners in Accounting and Operations to execute against plans
- Oversee the monthly and quarterly financial close process by working with Accounting
- Keep up weekly, quarterly and annual Area/Segment-level Bookings and P& L forecasting
Requirements
- Eager problem-solver who listens for customer cues and actively resolves problems with grace and integrity
- Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
- Practical knowledge in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)
- Proficiency with Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools required
- BA/BS degree in finance or a related field
- Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills
- Cost analysis experience
- Accounting Functions experience required
- Experience with Expense Reporting
- Background working with NetSuite
- Ad Hoc Reporting experience highly preferred
- General familiarity with Accounts receivables systems
- Adeptness in Financial Statement
- Good understanding of Microsoft Excel
- Practical knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Earlier work involving Microsoft Excel
- Strong familiarity with Budget Processes
- Comprehensive knowledge of Accounting Software Systems
- Demonstrated knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Financial planning & analysis (go-to-market experience preferred)
- Spreadsheet and ERP system experience recommended
