The Controller will handle a wide range of financial responsibilities, such as managing complicated partnerships, tax liabilities, payroll, and bank reconciliations. The position also involves working with specific property management software and engaging in inter-company transactions for 21 associated companies. This role is suited for someone seeking a long-term commitment. Responsibilities- Responsible for complex accounting tasks, not limited to bookkeeping- Focus on real estate-related financial matters, including depreciation of assets and 1031 exchanges- Handling complicated partnerships, tax liabilities, payroll, and bank reconciliations- Preparing taxes, managing quarterly tax deposits, and annual closure of in/out partnerships- Involvement in inter-company transactions and managing overhead company billing- Collaborating with an outside partner on capital improvements- Reconciling General Ledger and preparing 1099NECs, 1098, etc.- Overseeing property management software (Skyline & QuickBooks) and working closely with accounts payable and property management staff
