Your responsibilities
- Completing bank and general ledger reconciliations; processing payroll
- Ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close
- Preparing the trial balance and financial statements, including, but not limited to, balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows
- Supervising tasks of accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers
- Carefully filing documents to preserve historical records
- Maintaining adherence to federal, state, and local legal requirements by keeping up to date on them, filing reports, and advising management on needed actions
- Executing accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks, such as collections
- Tracking fixed assets and constructing depreciation schedules
Requirements
- Can work independently with minimal supervision
- Prior experience with Excel and Peachtree
- Prior payroll experience preferred
- A deep understanding of accrual and cash basis of accounting
- Proficient at analyzing financial data and promptly creating accurate reports
- Be able to prioritize workload and perform in a fast-paced and challenging environment
- QuickBooks experience desired
- Proficiency in Check Runs
- Knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)
- Billing Statements experience
- Foundational knowledge in Check Deposit
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required, and AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business preferred
- 3 years of relevant experience in bookkeeping
- Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures
