GL Accountant

Description

We are seeking a GL Accountant to join our client's team in Morgan Hill, California, 95037-5428, United States. As a GL Accountant, you will be pivotal in our industry's accounting and financial operations. You will be tasked with overseeing monthly cash activities, managing fixed asset transactions, and assisting in the close processes of global financial statements.

Hybrid opportunity- 3 fixed days in the office (Tuesday / Wednesday /Thursday and Monday / Friday work from home.

Responsibilities

• Administer monthly fixed asset transactions, including additions, disposals, and depreciation.
• Generate monthly bank reconciliations and oversee monthly cash activities.
• Assist in the close processes of global financial statements in accordance with the monthly close schedule.
• Manage monthly prepaid schedules and corresponding amortization.
• Collaborate with product managers to establish and supervise standard costs for various product lines.
• Distribute the global price list to all market regions.
• Examine and clarify monthly and yearly overhead costing discrepancies.
• Participate in the annual financial audit as necessary.
• Carry out general ledger entries and month-end close activities.
• Use general ledger systems for various accounting tasks.
  
  
  

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a GL Accountant or in a similar role
• Proficiency in General Ledger systems and accounting software
• Demonstrated experience in preparing and posting Journal Entries
• Experience in conducting Month End Close procedures
• Ability to perform Bank Reconciliations accurately and efficiently
• Knowledge of Fixed Asset Accounting principles and procedures
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• Professional accounting certification, such as CPA, preferred but not required
• Proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Familiarity with accounting regulations and standards
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
