A global manufacturing company located in West Houston is looking for a Global Cost Controller to support and assist the Product Director in coordinating daily business operations.
Responsibilities
Position will report to Global Corporate Controller.
• Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly cost analysis for all global manufacturing locations.
• Supervises the Projects Accounting group responsible for the Oracle Projects module. This area responsibility includes the duties performed for percentage of completion revenue and cost of sales recognition, completed contract revenue and cost of sales recognition.
• Planning, directing, budgeting, scheduling, monitoring, controlling & reporting different projects.
• Improve project process by developing and implementing cost structure.
• Creating budget awareness and contributing in the management process, working within a multi-cultural environment and identifying critical activities and advising corrective action to avoid slippage.
• Present new strategies and assessments to stakeholders in a compelling fashion.
• Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the interdependency of cost drivers.
• Supervises the Inventory accounting group responsible for the Oracle Cost Management module. This area responsibility includes the accounting treatment of the movement of physical inventory from receipt, to work in process (WIP), to completion for stocking and/or job costing. Also, this group has responsibility for the annual physical inventory of the storerooms and WIP inventory and obsolescence review.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes in Oracle and FCCS consolidation system.
• Reconcile and analyze various general ledger balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy including resolution of reconciling items.
• Support Corporate Controller in quarterly and annual internal and external audits.
Ideal candidate will have:
• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting- CPA, CMA, CIMA will be preferred.
• 7 years relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Standard cost accounting and an understanding of project accounting.
• Able to generate budgets and reports
This is a hybrid role.
Compensation is up to 160K plus bonus.

- Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills
- Solid understanding of job costing
- Cost accounting experience preferred
- Strong familiarity with Project Cost
- Standard Cost Accounting experience preferred
- 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
- Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus
- Critical thinking skills and the ability to retain complex work directions
- Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
- Be detailed, flexible, and organized
- Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
- Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
- CPA or MBA preferred
- Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines
