What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Generalist position at Robert Half?

In this role, you will perform various HR duties, including managing employee relations, recruiting, conducting new hire orientation, and updating the employee handbook.
How you will make an impact
- Accountable for completing various tasks and the daily operations of the HR department
- Conduct employee performance reviews, including assisting with annual reviews, appraising pay scales, and coordinating disciplinary action (including terminations if necessary)
- Develop templates for HR documents, including the Employee Handbook
- Develop onboarding plans and train newly hired employees on HR policies, internal procedures, and regulations
- Create official internal documents such as offer letters, appointment letters, salary adjustments, updates to the employee handbook, leave of absences, and warning/termination letters
- Design & /or support a recruitment plan according to operational and business projections
- Engage with upper management, employees, and third-party vendors
- Work with other members of the HR department to manage the hiring and onboarding process for new company employees
- Employee relations, involving engaging employees and coordinating sensitive conversations
- Develop employee engagement plans, including budget approvals and management oversite
- Compare local, state, and federal laws to current internal policies and procedures
- Manage digital and physical files for employees and their documents, including benefits, attendance records, and annual reviews
Requirements
- Prior HR experience in a Generalist capacity
- We need someone who is highly professional; able to use good judgment and maintain a high level of confidentiality and sensitivity
- Experience with full cycle recruiting
- B.A. or B.S. degree preferred, preferably with a Human Resources or Psychology emphasis
- Prior experience or knowledge managing Open Enrollment is a plus
- Proficient with office computer applications and software, as well as social media platforms
- Excellent written and verbal business skills
- Willing to work as part of a team or independently and have the drive to take on a variety of tasks and projects
- Strong understanding local, state and federal laws
- Experience using Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
