Description The Application Architect will oversee the lifecycle of new development on existing and future products. Some responsibilities include reviewing product requirements, designing product architecture, and managing daily product development efforts. The Application Architect will be responsible for managing complex interactions between business processes and technologies as well as translating product specifications into production level applications.
Responsibilities

Along with the product team, work to understand requirements and create functionality specifications.

Help team members so that they grow abilities and strengthen capabilities.

Manage the timeline for product development.

Conduct code reviews -- identifying best practices and efficiency steps for increased stability and capability.

Create, design, and document solutions to product specifications for shared capabilities throughout the architecture.

Define and evolve development standards, guidelines, procedures, processes, and metrics.

Carry out other related duties as assigned by management.

Assist in writing the technical section of functional specifications for new product development.

Play an important role in code development for web-based n-tier applications.
-
Aid in product release planning and helps assess feature viability/effort.
-
Provide technical and non-technical mentorship and oversight to developers.
-
Govern the deployment of alpha and beta releases during the stabilization of new product development.

Design, establish, and maintain technical architecture standards and develop cross-product frameworks and best practices. Requirements - 10 years of experience in application development, software design, and architecture.

Strong oral and written communication skills and presentation experience.
-
BA/BS in Software Engineering or Computer Science.

Comfortable learning new technologies related to the Web and application development.

Demonstrated capability to evaluate existing architecture, documenting issues and suggested improvements

Skilled in threading, asynchronous event handling, data binding, scripting and query languages/tools.

Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

5 years of experience in team management in a related field.

Capable of decomposing and prioritizing components of large systems.
-
Development of realistic plans, goals, and aligning plans with company goals, managing resources, and creating contingency plans.

Must be able to work independently and lead small teams.

Experience with creating, debugging, securing, testing, and optimizing code for multiple web-based applications and services.

Understanding of common software development languages is preferred.

Consulting experience with business analysis, data management, system architecture, and distributed technologies.
