Major responsibilities
- Facilitate electronic documents and files
- Cross-reference copied documents with originals to ensure accuracy
- Author correspondence and memorandum
- Oversee record keeping and matter management
- Prep copier and scanner for documents
- Stay on top of word processing, filing and faxing
- Stay on top of legal research and investigative tasks, including obtaining information or documents from outside parties, as directed
- Research and retrieve electronic documents from a variety of court and agency web sites
- Catalog documents and compile data as directed by lawyers and paralegals
- Uphold computer database input and retrieval
Requirements
- 2 years of previous legal work experience and a dedication to integrity
- Investigating the factual evidence of a transaction or case and preparing exhibits, charts and diagrams to display information
- Expertise in Estate Law
- Draft Correspondence experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of Probate a plus
- Experience with Draft Documents
- Deep understanding of Draft Legal Documents
- Organizing and tracking files for important transactions or case documents, including pleadings and voluminous discovery documents; creating and maintaining a case-management database
- Drafting legal court documents, such as pleadings, motions, affidavits and subpoenas; transactional documents, such as trusts, wills, contracts and real estate leases; and closing documents
- Experience assisting lawyers in preparing for transactional closings, depositions, hearings, trials and conferences; completing many administrative tasks, including, working on individual cases or transactions
- Conducting routine discovery
