Robert Half is looking for a Payroll Clerk to support the Payroll department at a growing company in a variety of duties. The opportunity is located in the Athens, Georgia area. The Payroll Clerk's daily functions may consist of data entry, reconciliation of timecards, paycheck distribution and providing statements to various departments. The selected Payroll Clerk candidate would be employed on a long-term contract / temporary to hire basis.
Responsibilities
- Arrange data into spreadsheets and the payroll system
- Devise a system of administering and distributing reports
- Craft and deliver training to employees on the use of proper payroll practices, including timesheet entry and online methods of accessing pay statements
- Carry out clerical duties such as filing, scanning, faxing, photocopying, etc
- Build and run custom reports
- Data entry into spreadsheets and the payroll system
- Reach out to employees via phone and email to obtain timesheet approvals
Requirements
- Previous payroll experience
- Payroll software experience suggested
- Comprehensive knowledge of Automated Payroll
- Skillful in learning new processes and systems
- Outstanding data entry skills
- Strong organization skills with a sense of urgency and capable of prioritizing multiple tasks
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively throughout all levels of the company
- Detailed and have the ability work independently
