Our client in Newark, New Jersey is seeking a Payroll Manager for a contract to hire opportunity. Thr Payroll Manager will be responsible for overseeing the processing and auditing of various pay cycles, managing shared service payroll operations and ensuring compliance with U.S. employment tax legislations, Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), state wage law, and garnishment administration. In addition, the Payroll Manager will have previous M& A experience and will be up to date with new legislation and regulatory rulings impacting payroll. The Payroll Manager must have experience using Workday processing payroll for over 5K employees. This role has a hybrid work schedule.

Requirements
- Proven experience in managing payroll for over 500 employees
- Proficient in using Workday Payroll software
- Solid understanding of full cycle payroll processes
- Knowledgeable about payroll garnishments and payroll taxes
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Strong analytical ability and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to salaries, wages, taxes, benefits, and other payroll-related matters
