Robert Half has a job opening for a PC Technician, who has the ability to interact with technical and non-technical users in an understandable and concise manner while solving complex technical issues. If you are a self-motivated problem solver who loves to work in a dynamic and positive environment, this may be the role for you. The short-term contract / temporary PC Technician will work in the Anderson, Indiana, area.
Your responsibilities
- Arrange for repairs through the appropriate vendors
- Document all daily data communication transactions, issues and solutions or installations
- Break down, box and ship old equipment
- Manage imaging and preparation for new computers
- Take down, pack, transport and set up/install on site
- Help test functionality and support end users
- Track equipment inventory, and suggest and assist with purchases
- Own and complete technology implementation projects
- Ensure the integrity of electronic data records, acting in accordance with company quality standards
- Complete transferal of data from PC to PC and troubleshoot software/hardware as well as break/fix
- Communicate with ticket submitters effectively and on a regular basis
- Diagnose, restore, rebuild, and refurbish computer hardware, such as PCs, laptops, monitors, servers, and additional IT equipment
- Install printers, troubleshoot problems and make repairs
Requirements
- No stranger to network design and implementation strategies
- High attention to detail
- Ability to handle multiple tasks to prioritize needs and expedite tasks upon request
- Proven flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments
- Ability to simplify complex problems and build solutions
- Solid understanding of Field Technicians
- 1 - 3 years of experience supporting hardware and software for PC and Mac, and knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN, and WAN
- A certification in CompTIA A is mandatory
