We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Purchaser in the Manufacturing industry, located in Frankfort, Indiana. The role involves maintaining relationships with suppliers, negotiating pricing, and overseeing overall supplier management. This role is instrumental in our operations and requires a keen understanding of cost analysis and purchase orders.
Responsibilities:
• Issue electronic requests for quotes (ERFQ) to potential and existing suppliers for new model parts.
• Evaluate pricing for design changes through the issuance of Engineering Change Notice (ECN) to suppliers.
• Review and validate the legitimacy and accuracy of supplier pricing against cost models.
• Foster cooperative working relationships with suppliers.
• Monitor and track price changes based on market conditions and design changes.
• Approve invoices for payment in the relevant system.
• Issue purchase orders to suppliers for mass production, trial parts, tooling, service parts, etc.
• Collaborate with other departments during new model development on tooling schedules and trial events.
• Understand how to read part drawings to compare against pricing submitted by suppliers.
• Create and maintain cost models and monitor commodity price changes.
• Utilize analytical skills to compare costs against multiple suppliers within commodities and materials.
• Lead meetings with suppliers and internal team members regarding the supply chain.
• Hold suppliers accountable for production, shipping, quality, etc. issues and work with other departments to resolve.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a Purchasing role within the Manufacturing industry
• Proficient in creating and managing Purchase Orders
• Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure the best prices and terms
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with vendors and internal teams
• Proven ability to analyze price proposals and financial reports
• Familiarity with market research, data analysis and forecasting techniques
• Proficient in relevant software applications, including MS Office and purchasing management systems
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accurate and updated records of purchases
• Knowledge of supply chain and inventory management systems
• High ethical standards and professionalism in interactions with vendors and co-workers.
Salary : $50,000 - $60,000
