Staff Accountant

Description If you're an experienced accountant with a knack for accuracy, there's currently an opening through Robert Half for Staff Accountant at a growing Manufacturing firm. Based in the Roswell, Georgia area, this exciting long-term contract / temporary to hire opportunity is set in an engaging work place where hard work is rewarded. The Staff Accountant plays a major role in the preparation of monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. The majority of time spent will be dedicated to producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. During the monthly close, many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility. In addition, you will take part in compliance, communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes.
What you get to do every single day
- Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
- Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed
- Participate in various department-wide initiatives
- Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision
- Maintain monthly payment schedules
- Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
- Support fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
- Ready complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
- Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
- Offer descriptions of a large number of financial data and communicate insights in a useful and understandable manner Requirements - Recent and relevant accounting experience
- Competent with spreadsheets and databases
- High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
- Demonstrated ability in strong analytical, quantitative and social skills
- Current and relevant ERP system experience
- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
- Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
- Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
- Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
- Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
- Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Fixed Asset Accounting experience
