We are seeking a Media, Pennsylvania Systems Engineer for an immediate opportunity through Robert Half. You'll succeed as our Systems Engineer if you become a key contributor to the maintenance and optimization of the client's network and wireless infrastructure. What you get to do every single day
- Connect with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
- Hold up redundancy strategies, backup, and security
- Display active participation to warrant the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
- Lend a hand to the design of information and operational support systems
- Survey and sample application performance for potential bottlenecks, pinpoint possible solutions, and cooperate with developers to perform those fixes
- Oversee and follow up on all installed systems and infrastructure
- Offer 2nd and 3rd level support
- Maintain, install, configure, and test system management tools, application software, and operating systems
- Write down and keep up custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks
Requirements
- This position requires a candidate with solid scripting skills
- This position requires a candidate with solid networking knowledge
- This position requires a candidate with solid experience in the administration and performance tuning of application stacks
- This position requires a candidate with experience with monitoring systems
- Experience with automation software
- We are particularly looking for candidates with proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting various operating systems
- We are particularly looking for candidates who have experience with virtualization and containerization
- Proficiency in Database
- Experience with IIS
- Citrix Technologies experience
- Practical knowledge of Deployments
- Adeptness in Active Directory
- Demonstrated knowledge of Backup Technologies
- General familiarity with configuration management
- Cisco Technologies experience
- Design experience highly preferred
- Foundational knowledge in IBM
