What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tax Consultant position at Robert Half?
Classification: Sr. Tax Accountant
Compensation: $45.00 to $55.00 hourly
Our firm is looking for a tax consultant to support on-going compliance needs in a corporate tax department. The candidate will be responsible for assisting in various aspects of the tax department including but not limited to income tax, sales/use tax, business property tax, business license management, tax credits and incentives, and census reporting. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Provide support for Federal and State income tax compliance
•Prepare quarterly estimated tax calculations, tax return workpapers and document tax positions
•Conduct tax research using CCH Intelliconnect to substantiate tax positions using substantial authority (IRC Sections, Treasury Regulations, Case law, etc.)
•Work with other department to obtain relevant information and document understanding
• Sales/use tax compliance
•Provide assistance with information gathering and reviewing A/P invoices for use tax
• Property tax compliance
•Provide assistance in information gathering and maintain the Company’s tax depreciation records
• Business licenses
•Gather information for filing and maintaining relevant business license for the Company
• Income tax, sales tax and property tax audit support
•Run reports, gather invoices, prepare analyses, and compile responses to auditor Information Document Requests
• Prepare and file the monthly, quarterly, and yearly census reports
• Maintain tax calendar and assist in communication with various taxing jurisdictions
• Maintain good working knowledge of current changes in tax law (Federal and State)
• Perform research on various tax topics
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business
• Three to five years of income tax compliance experience at a Big-4 or national public accounting firm
• Solid experience with tax depreciation and maintaining multiple tax books in ERP software (SAP experience a plus)
• Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, SUMIFS, etc.)
• Exceptionally organized and process improvement focused
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced, service oriented environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in a remote-work setting
• Video conferencing capabilities (with requisite software/hardware) to attend and contribute during video-enabled Zoom meeting
