As a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for the preparation and consolidation of financial statements and the analysis and reconciliations of accounts. You will be responsible for the preparation of federal and state income tax and franchise tax returns, as well as the calculation of quarterly estimated tax payments and tax provisions. How you will make an impact:
• Demonstrates knowledge of industry trends, identify client issues and conflicts; actively communicate solution options to client and team
• Prepare and review state-by-state quarterly estimated tax liability calculations and payment processing
• Manage multi-state income tax, franchise and tax planning issues, including but not limited to nexus, apportionment, state modifications, separate vs. unitary vs. combined reporting
• Manage State tax controversy matters, including but not limited to notice and audit resolution
• Research and understand state income/franchise tax issues and developments
• Draft memos and petitions to support and defend state income/franchise tax positions
• Assist with various tax consulting projects such as voluntary disclosure agreements, filing positions, and reorganization transactions
• Assist with issues related to the accounting for income taxes
Requirements
The ideal Tax Manager candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent combination of education.
Other requirements for the Tax Manager position include and are not limited to:
• Certified Public Accounting license or exams in progress
• 3 years’ State and Local Income/Franchise Tax experience.
• Must have experience preparing and reviewing consolidated returns
• Understand fundamentals of state income/franchise tax, such as nexus, apportionment, state modifications, separate vs. unitary vs. combined reporting.
• Experience with enterprise software such as Oracle, SAP, CorpTax, OneSource and Vertex.
• Experience with Microsoft Office/Google Suite tools.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel/sheets skill set required.
• Experience developing and booking journal entries.
