Robert Half is partnering with a growing Fort Worth based organization on a search for a new Tax professional for their team.
The Manager of Tax is responsible for overseeing tax planning, compliance, and reporting, with a focus on federal, partnership, and multi-state tax matters. This position requires a hands-on approach and a deep understanding of various tax types, including sales and use tax, property tax, and payroll tax.
Responsibilities:
•Ensure timely and accurate filing of all required tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, property tax, and any other applicable taxes. Review tax computations and documentation to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
•Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize the organization's tax liabilities while maximizing tax benefits. Identify opportunities for tax savings and advise management on tax-efficient business decisions.
•Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations and analyze their impact on the organization. Conduct research on complex tax issues and provide recommendations to address them effectively.
•Serve as a primary point of contact for tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities. Prepare documentation and support materials to defend tax positions and resolve audit issues in a timely manner.
•Assess tax risks associated with business activities and transactions and develop strategies to mitigate those risks. Implement internal controls to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
•Build and maintain relationships with external tax advisors, auditors, and tax authorities. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including legal, finance, and operations teams, to address tax-related matters effectively.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
•CPA or other relevant certification preferred
•Tax compliance…in a corporate or public accounting environment
•Knowledge of tax laws and regulations
•Analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex tax issues and propose practical solutions.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
•Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems preferred.
•Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
