Description Robert Half is working with an multi-billion, publicly traded international organization to look for a Tax Manager in their growing tax department. This position has been created out of growth as the incumbent has gotten promoted. Overseeing a staff of four, the Tax Manager will be responsible for managing, facilitating and supporting the organization's business while ensuring full compliance with all local and international tax rules. The ideal candidate is a team player who manages and mentors the tax team to greater performance, creates and implements tax plans and works with the accounting and leadership teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and potential areas of risk. The Tax Manager will ensure compliance with state federal and international tax law through a series of systems and system controls that are designed to ensure accurate, timely reporting. The Tax Manager will monitor current and impending changes to tax regulation and make the appropriate updates to policies and strategies. The ideal candidate is focused in their pursuit of ensuring compliance and achieves this goal through optimizing reporting procedures and driving the successful function of the tax team.The Tax Manager will be responsible for managing Income Tax Provision processes under ASC 740 including calculation of effective tax rates, deferred tax items, valuation allowance analysis and related journal entries and review of tax account reconciliations. They will also be responsible for determination of tax compliance requirements and formulation of policies and procedures to meet those requirements in the most efficient manner, while managing all federal and state tax audits and notices. Other duties include overseeing and approving the preparation of federal and multi-state income tax returns, approving estimated federal and state tax payment calculations and the related submissions of payments. The Tax Manager will also review and manage international aspects of income & non income tax returns, along with Forms 1118 and 5471 (and 861 apportionments) for all non-US entities. You will also assist with tax planning opportunities and other structuring, along with providing guidance on foreign tax credit calculations, while researching complicated tax issues, analyze applicable laws, suggest alternatives or new practices, and document conclusions. Also part of the duties are advising management regarding effects of business activities on taxes, and on strategies for minimizing tax liability, performing research and preparing/reviewing technical tax memorandum, overseeing complex tax research projects and maintaining tax oriented internal controls for Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.There is tremendous growth opportunity and technical exposure to work for a rapidly growing organization that has recently doubled in size.
