How you will make an impact
- Manage the organizational structure of the department in order to achieve goals and objectives
- Hire, train, and retain finance staff
- Manage the composition of financial outlooks and financial forecasts
- Ensure adherence to budgetary reporting requirements, including local, state, and federal
- Perform analysis on operating results, comparing against budget
- Supervise all financial reporting preparation
- Perform financial analysis for contract negotiations and product investment decisions
- Oversee daily operations of the finance and accounting department
- Decide on benchmarks for comparing the operating and financial performance
- Own financial planning and budget management functions
- Establish short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
- Direct risk and insurance management
- Review and maintain budgeting and forecasting models
- Develop five-year business plans with department managers
Requirements
- Experience with multiple accounting and financial reporting systems
- MBA or CPA is preferred
- 10 years of finance and accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
- Extremely detailed and analytical
- Expert understanding of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills required
