Responsibilities
- Provides services in the treatment of mental illness, under the supervision of a mental health professional and within the special education program guidelines.
- Participate in mental health evaluation/assessment of student and treatment planning process.
- Comply with DHS regulations for CTSS providers.
- Complete case notes of all contact with student, family and professionals in a timely manner and maintains documentation of student mental health goals, objectives and ongoing progress.
- Provides leadership and facilitation of skills training, both in groups and individually, as determined by the needs of the student.
- Collaborates with appropriate others to ensure coordinated services for students.
- Provides assistance with crisis intervention within classroom.
- Performs other duties within the level of responsibility of the position as assigned by Student Support Services administrator.
In addition, the specific skills/educational qualifications for this include:
- Must be CPI trained or willing to take training.
- Believes that all students can attain high levels of learning.
- Takes responsibility for the learning of our students and his/her own performance.
- Possesses the knowledge and skills to build effective educational experiences that benefit all students.
- Functions as an effective member of the educational/school team.
- Won't shy away from today's educational challenges.
- Utilizes effective interpersonal skills.
- Has a proven track record of success.
- Works with great integrity
- One year of college coursework (30 semester hours) in a human service field AND 2,000 supervised experience hours. Supervision must have been provided by a Qualified Mental Health Professional and documentation will be required.
- Bachelor’s degree in a human service field AND related internship experience (or 2,000 supervised hours)
- Masters degree in human service or related field
- A high school diploma and 4,000 supervised experience hours Supervision must have been provided by a Qualified Mental Health Professional and documentation will be required.
- Believes that all students can attain high levels of learning.

- Possesses the knowledge and skills to build effective educational experiences that benefit all students.
