Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field
  • Experience in scientific research environment
  • Experience creating data visualizations using modern business intelligence (BI) tools, highlighting insights as relevant
  • Experience executing end-to-end data analysis projects in a business environment
  • Experience using data to tell stories tailored to the audience
  • Working knowledge of standard statistical measures and probability theory

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with big data
  • Experience with project management
  • Proficiency with industry-standard statistical analysis tools, such as SAS, R or Python
  • Conceptual knowledge of data mining or other data exploration techniques
  • Conceptual knowledge of data warehousing
  • Conceptual knowledge of logical and physical data models

Job Summary

As a Scientific Analyst, you'll collect, analyze and report on scientific data for the Gilbert Family Foundation to recommend data-driven solutions to stakeholders, including leaders. In this role, you'll use a range of tools and methodologies, including statistical and technical expertise, to generate insights and identify opportunities for advancements in the scientific community. You'll also serve as a project manager for several grants and provides support as needed for scientific research initiatives. This is an opportunity to actively engage with relevant communities to develop relationships and support new program and partnership development through evaluation of new funding opportunities and novel medical and healthcare technologies relevant to curing NF1.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and report on medical and healthcare technologies and associated organizations/companies
  • Assist in evaluating new grant, investment, or partnership opportunities
  • Identify and communicate patterns in response to data manipulation, statistics and data Visualization
  • Use data to support and challenge solutions for scientific research with community members and company stakeholders
  • Define, gather and validate data requirements and evaluate data quality
  • Identify and analyze relevant external data to monitor scientific research findings
  • Support scientific team with various projects and operations
  • Stay informed of industry or business trends that pertain to data and scientific research
  • Ensure team alignment to company mission and values with the ability to demonstrate that commitment in daily interactions
