Monday – Friday, occasional Saturdays | 7:30am – 5:30pm

Our Position

This position will have a designated territory where you will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to controlling insects, rodents and other pest involving application of professional products and tactics. Universal Technicians will conduct home and property inspections by identifying potential and actual pest problems, remove unwanted pests, setup and check on laid traps, install Sentricon systems, bed bug treatments, assist pest control and/or lawn control routes, and design further control strategies such as Integrated Pest Management.

Your Responsibilities

  • Maintaining service schedules for all customers on assigned and calling customers prior to their service.
  • Inspecting/Troubleshooting termite Sentricon systems and wildlife traps as needed to employ sound pest control strategies to maintain a pest free environment for customers on assigned route.
  • Using auger to drill holes into ground for Sentricon stations and digs trenches for liquid termite applications, when applicable.
  • Installing wildlife and pest traps, applying caulks or other supplies to fill in gaps/holes in the structure of the house, spay installation (TAP Insulation), use a respirator, and use other construction methods to resolve issues.
  • Performing moisture/vapor barriers in crawl spaces, where service is offered.
  • Providing liquid treatment for bed bugs and/or heat treatment applications.
  • Applying lawn and fertilizer products, per the current lawn program, and communicating/educating progress to customers.
  • Communicating effectively with customers prior to, during and after service delivery to assess and meet their needs.
  • Continuously monitoring infestation/rodent areas and pest application methods (i.e. baits, traps, etc.) after application and communicate progress to customers and operation managers.
  • Responding to customer requests in a timely manner.
  • Communicating in conjunction with sales staff to meet client expectations.
  • Participating in ongoing training programs to constantly improve upon skill level.
  • Completing and submitting service-related paperwork in a timely and orderly fashion.
  • Maintaining assigned service vehicle, equipment and tools in clean/good working condition.
  • Adhering and abiding by all driving laws/company policies when operating company vehicles.
  • Participating in collections efforts.

 

 

Our Requirements

  • Complete a minimum of High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Position requires successful completion of 30-day initial training (classroom and field training) and earning minimum of two CEU’s annually.
  • Required to use 32ft ladder.
  • Must have the ability to walk, climb, stoop, reach, crawl, crouch, kneel, push, pull and lift a minimum of 50lbs or more.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication, with particular emphasis during telephone calls, follow-ups, and in-person correspondence.
  • Ability to calculate basic math.
  • Working in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position; where a momentary lapse of concentration can result in serious injury, death, environmental consequences, or data breach.
  • Must be able to work Saturdays.
  • Must have valid driver license and be 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to pass a seven-year criminal background check.
  • Must be able to pass company drug screen and/or substance abuse testing.
  • Must be able to pass three-year motor vehicle report and meet minimum eligibility requirements criteria of insurance carrier.
