Rockmed Pharmacy (www.rockmedltc.com) a locally-owned pharmacy located in Edgerton, Wisconsin, is seeking candidates for a Pharmacy Filling Technician.

Store hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00AM - 6:00PM and Saturday 9:00AM - 3:00PM. We are closed for all major holidays. 

Position Summary:

The Pharmacy Filling Technician is responsible for performing duties related to the maintenance of drug inventory, preparation of medications as well as other technical functions required for the efficient operation of a licensed pharmacy. The Pharmacy Filling Technician works during the presence of a registered pharmacist, under the supervision of a team lead or manager, and may only perform duties that are not legally required to be performed by registered pharmacists.

Position Duties/Essential Job Functions:

• Maintenance of Drug Inventory - Accurately maintains any necessary records or documentation, as required by law or the pharmacy, related to all medications that are filled, including but not limited to; appropriate current and past medical history, appropriate clinical and laboratory data, and concurrent medication.
• Prepares and packages all medications, in blister cards, bottles, syringes or sachets, by hand or robot, as submitted via the prescription label and/or MAR (daily, cycle and pre-pack filling). 
• Interacts in a friendly and appropriate manner with all internal and external personnel.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and is compliant with all HIPAA standards.
• Processes telephone calls promptly and direct calls to appropriate personnel.
• Contacts prescriber’s offices (fax or call) for prescription refill requests.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a retail pharmacy or Long Term Care pharmacy is preferred, but not required. 
• Have proven experience, or demonstrate the ability to mentor, guide, and train co-workers. 
• Ability to clearly communicate, both verbally and in writing with customers, peers, and managers.
• Attention to detail, accurate typing, basic computer, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and be capable of prioritizing workflow requirements.
• Education requirements: High School graduate or equivalent. RPhT Certification highly preferred.
