Roessel Joy has partnered with a large engineering company in Boston, MA seeking to add a Payroll Manager to their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have had at least 6 years of payroll experience, 2 years of management experience, and multi state payroll processing experience.
Responsibilities:
- Performs and supervises all regular duties and responsibilities associated with the preparation, generation, and distribution of the weekly, bi-weekly, and supplemental payrolls
- Develops/revises yearly payroll schedules, calendars, and employee notices and develops, revises and maintains payroll documentation and procedures.
- Participates in the reconciliation of payroll to the general ledger and ensures payment of all liabilities generated in payroll process (payroll tax withholding, medical co-payments, Paid Time Off (PTO) balances, etc.). Remits payments to the appropriate external entity (401k administrator; State and Federal Government; etc.). Designs, updates and coordinates with internal staff on vendor interfaces, updated data requirements, audits and testing related to payroll.
- Reviews the filing of all federal and state payroll reports prepared by third party payroll provider. Manages all outside audit requests from state agencies, worker’s compensation and benefits vendors, etc.
- Manages the day to day activities of payroll staff. Conducts performance appraisals, manages the development and training of staff.
- Audits international pay rates, performs tax equalization, and performs Ex-patriate reporting by interfacing with international payroll staff often managed by other units.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of state, local and federal tax laws
- 6 Years of experience and a degree in a related field
- Extensive knowledge of payroll best practices and policies
- Extensive knowledge of ADP WFN
- Proficient at Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Prior Oracle Time and Labor, Oracle Financials and system conversion experience a plus
- Strong communications skills; excellent writing skills

Pay: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
