What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scrum Master position at Roessel Joy?
RoesselJoy Technology has partnered with a Medical Device company in Boston, MA, to search for a Scrum Master. The successful candidate has already worked in an early-stage company. The role is in the Boston office and is only open to candidates available to work in the office 2 - 3x per week.
- Define and lead an agile vision and strategy that improves as our company advances in our agile understanding.
- Facilitate Scrum process, including daily Scrum, Sprint Planning, Sprint Demos, and Retrospectives, to ensure the objectives of each meeting are met.
- Help the Scrum Teams focus firmly on the Product Goal, Sprint Goals, and the Definition of Done.
- Help the team establish practices that enhance quality, lowers technical debt, and increase product value.
- Support product owners/managers in grooming, maintaining the product backlog, and prioritization
- Communicate and remove potential or actual impediments to team delivery
- Work as the administrator of the scrum board and ensure JIRA and other tools are working well.
- Complete regular analysis of burndown charts and other planning tools to understand what gets built and at what cadence
- Influence and collaborate with others to drive continuous improvements
- Coordinate deployments/releases with the respective engineering teams and Dev OPS
Requirements
- 4 years’ experience with a software development team that was applying Agile/Scrum principles and practices
- 3 years as a Scrum Master or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of and experience with writing compelling user stories and acceptance criteria
- Demonstrated expertise with incremental project delivery and leading people, including people, change management.
- Understand software development processes and procedures, including test-driven development, incremental development approaches, and technical change management.
- Healthcare industry experience/working knowledge with IEC 62304 is highly preferable.
