What are the responsibilities and job description for the GIS Specialist position at Rogers Group, Inc.?
Rogers Group is seeking a GIS Specialist to join our Operations Service and Support (OSS) department. The successful candidate will work closely with the Environmental Manager, Business Development team, Contract Management team, and others to apply GIS capabilities in each area. The GIS Specialist will report to the Manager of Mine Planning and Geology, and may take on additional responsibilities as a member of the Mine Planning team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as continuous improvement lead and change manager for implementing new GIS projects
- Manage ArcGIS Online account
- Provide training to ESRI users throughout the company
- Create maps, apps, and dashboards to improve data visualization and utilization in the company
- Find, import, and manage data from multiple sources to create impactful new data layers
- Perform land management and land due diligence functions including deed mapping and upkeep of lease agreement database in SharePoint
- Other responsibilities outside of GIS will depend on qualifications (may include work with AutoCAD, drone/GPS surveying, or geological/environmental assessments)
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years experience with ESRI ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Pro.
- Bachelors degree in a field relevant to the position and our line of business such as GIS, Data Science, Geoscience, Environmental Science, or Engineering
- Ideal candidate will have experience with ArcGIS Enterprise and API relationships
- Experience in a relevant field in addition to GIS is preferred (mining, engineering, drafting, surveying, environmental or geology)
