Construction Safety Supervisor

Rogers Mechanical Contractors Safety Supervisors have authority to direct the work and actions of others are responsible for adhering to the company’s safety rules, procedures and policy guidelines. Supervisors are also responsible for the safety and welfare of employees at work. Consequently, if a supervisor sees a hazard or safety compliance violation in an area outside of his or her direct authority, he or she should report this to the supervisor in charge of the work area and then to the Safety Director. This position is in Mansfield, TX, but will visit job sites on an as-needed basis.

Duties include, but not limited to:

• Ensure compliance with Company safety rules and regulations through all daily supervision of workers. Take corrective and progressive disciplinary actions to ensure employee compliance with safety policies.
• Conduct and/or assist with ongoing safety training for employees; and provide additional safety training for employees reassigned to new duties. This includes ensuring that personal protective equipment is either issued or available to new hires and they are properly trained in its use BEFORE performing duties in the Company workplace.
• Report and correct unsafe conditions anywhere they are observed in the workplace. Request corrective actions through higher levels of supervision if the required correction is beyond ability to correct.
• Ensure that all accidents, injuries and near misses are reported by employees. Be sure that a(n) injured employee(s) completes an incident report.
• Investigate reported incidents and “near misses.” Complete the supervisor’s section of the incident form, documenting all circumstances and corrective actions relative to all occurrences.
• Set the example by displaying professional personal behavior, wearing required personal protective equipment and not acting in violation of safety policies and rules.
• Work to develop and support safety consciousness and a cooperative attitude among employees about safety.
• Coach field supervisors on proper techniques of enforcing policy and procedures
• Assign safety training(s) as needed
• Updating expired worker certifications
• Assist HR with new hires orientation(s)
• Maintain Safety Supply Inventory
• Job site Safety Audits
• Assist Safety Director as needed
• Creating Safety Audit Reports
• Sub-Contractor Safety Audits

This position requires:

• Valid driver’s license
• Professional customer service
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to multi-task and solve problems.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
• Pre-employment and random drug testing.
• Detail oriented.
• Highly organized
• OSHA 30 (Construction)
• First Aid, CPR, BBP, AED

Preferred Experience:

• Microsoft Office: 1 year
• Customer Service: 1 year
• Commercial Construction (3yrs)
