Roku’s Devices business is responsible for growing Roku active accounts around the world. Roku’s active accounts are approaching half of broadband households in the US and are growing well internationally. In addition, the Devices business has launched two recent initiatives – Smart Home and Smart TVs made by Roku.
About The Role
The Senior Inventory Accountant of Devices will report to the Inventory Accounting Manager and work closely with the Operations and FP&A team. This person will primarily be responsible for analyzing and recording various types of transactions related to inventory and cost of goods sold of device business.
An ideal candidate should possess great attention to detail, strong organization skills, clear documentation of working files and be able to balance competing priorities, adapt and evolve continuously in a fast-paced business environment.
For California Only - The estimated annual salary for this position is between $105,000 - $264,000 annually.
Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location.
This role is eligible for health insurance, equity awards, life insurance, disability benefits, parental leave, wellness benefits, and paid time off.

What you will be doing
- Analyze and report various inventory reserves and capitalized expenses including excess and obsolescence, manufacturing overhead and purchase price variance
- Support audits of financial and regulatory reporting
- Proactively inform leadership of analysis and recommendations
- Maintain and review detailed standard costs while also providing cost and inventory analysis in support of operations and finance
- Perform month-end close activities including reconciling of inventory and related liabilities, processing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, audit schedules, etc.
- Oversee physical inventory count observation and review and reconcile all inventory location reports to Roku’s sub-ledger
- Work with operations team and 3rd party logistics providers to coordinate, reconcile and investigate variances in physical inventory and cycle counts
- Subject matter expert on ERP inventory transaction flows
- Reconcile, accrue, and report royalties paid to royalty partners
- Maintain and review the general ledger and reconcile balance sheets related to device business inventory and cost of goods sold
- Support ad-hoc analysis for continuous process improvement
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or similar required
- 8 years of cost accounting or audit experience
- Ability to apply knowledge of US GAAP & Cost Accounting Standards
- Experience with hardware and contract manufacturing
- Advanced Excel skills, including v-look ups and pivot tables
- Experience with NetSuite preferred
- Ability to present to leadership on findings
- Comfortable with large volumes of data with strong analytical skills
- Highly organized with great attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- “Systems person” with curiosity about transactions, data and processes
