Under general supervision, Camp Counselors carry out camp activities for the program participants. Counselors are responsible for the direct supervision of the campers, leading age-appropriate activities, and working with other staff to address the daily needs of the campers during the summer season. Camp Counselors are expected to provide a high-quality camp experience in a safe environment by incorporating arts and crafts, recreational sports/games, field trips, specialty program(s), etc.
Counselors are expected to participate with campers in a recreational setting, interact with the public, act as a positive role model at all times, build relationships with campers, set up and clean up camp-related activities, adhere to and enforce all Town of Rolesville and Summer Camp policies, and perform other duties as necessary.
Compensation:
Starting at $10 an hour- 20-35 hours a week
Essential Duties:
Assist with program management- Supervise large and small groups of children
- Create a positive experience for all participants
- Accompany campers on pre-planned field trips
- Participate in light outdoor field set-up
- Provide friendly customer service and a welcoming environment
- Keep the Camp facility clean and organized
- CPR and First Aid Certification
- Experience working with children ages 6-12 years old.
- General knowledge of recreation
- Program creation and implementation
Qualifications:
Must be 16 years or older- Prior work experience in summer camp or recreational setting preferred
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check

Reporting Relationship:
This position reports directly to the Camp Director and Program Coordinator on-site.
