Department/Location: All Saints Catholic School / Sierra Vista, AZ
Primary Function: Under the direction of the President, School Principals or other assigned manager is responsible for performing janitorial services and light maintenance in school or other facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Support the School’s spiritual and pastoral mission
Shall abide by Catholic principles in the employee’s professional and private life, and shall govern his/her professional and private life in strict accordance with Catholic morals and principles to demonstrate complete adherence to Catholic moral strictures;
Develop a cleaning schedule to assure the school is clean and maintained in an orderly fashion
Perform general custodial duties to include cleaning and light maintenance of the school facilities
Assist grounds person on an “as needed” basis
Perform scheduled monthly, semi-annual, or annual janitorial duties, ie, floor waxing, painting, window washing, carpet cleaning, etc. as directed and in accordance with the school maintenance schedule
Provide set-up and cleaning of facilities for all activities as directed
Maintain a supply of cleaning supplies and equipment; properly account for materials and equipment
Maintain security of buildings, equipment, and tools
Comply with safety regulations as required; maintain a safe working environment
Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical/Mental Requirements: Requires coordination and manual dexterity; normal mental and visual ability; ability to lift as required in a normal maintenance environment
Must have a working knowledge of and a strong commitment to the mission of the Diocese and Catholic Church; must be in full communion with the Catholic Church
Excellent communications skills, verbal and written; excellent human relations and interpersonal skills
Exercise courtesy to fellow employees, parishioners and the public
Must be a self-starter; well organized; perform multiple tasks simultaneously and work with a sense of urgency
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment; punctuality is a must; ability to travel locally as required; weekend and overtime work may be required
Working familiarity with computer technology
Ability to successfully pass a background, criminal history, and credit history check
Possess a valid Arizona driver’s license
Be able to read directions and label safety warnings. Must be safety-conscious
Knowledge, skills and experience in handling janitorial equipment and maintenance tools
Professional bearing; clean and neat personal appearance
Education and Experience:
High school graduate or equivalent education
1 years’ experience in a commercial or private maintenance, janitorial or similar position
Other/Preferred Skills
Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred
