What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Services Representative-Home Care position at Roper St. Francis Healthcare?
The Financial Services Representative is responsible for performing assigned accounts receivable and billing functions in an efficient manner, in accordance with established agency policy and procedures, and as directed by the specific program Director to ensure that a successful and viable accounts receivable program is maintained at all times. The Patient Financial Services Representative’s primary functions are to process patient billing information, perform collections in accordance with federal and state regulations, and communicate pertinent information to commercial insurers to maintain appropriate authorizations. The Financial Services Representative bills all payers and is assigned to perform all financial functions for their respective team. The individual may perform other functions such as typing, data entry, collections, generating agency reports (e.g. daily census), insurance verification, processing accounts payable requests and/or payroll timekeeper functions.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High school graduate. Some college is preferred to include accounting and computer training.
Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in accounting functions (healthcare preferred).

Knowledge/Skills: Demonstrates proficiency in general office, computer or typing, and telephone
skills. Demonstrates good communication skills. Knowledge of collection laws and insurance regulations preferred.
