Position Purpose:
The Benefits and Payroll Specialist will provide professional level human resource duties in the area of payroll and employee benefits; conduct research, analysis and preparation of reports.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Work hours prescribed by the Benefits and Payroll Manager and any additional hours deemed necessary for the responsibilities assigned. Punctuality and regular attendance on-site are required

Process accurate and timely bi-weekly payroll for employees and independent contractors

Maintain payroll operations by following policies and procedures, understanding proper taxation, garnishments, and required reporting

Uphold employee confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential

Present new employee orientation as assigned
-
Reporting and analysis of requested employment data

Provide HR support in the areas of employee relations, legal compliance, policies and procedure development.

Participate in Performance Improvement and planning committees as assigned

Prepare of required government reports, including EEOC, Vets 100, and OSHA as assigned

Benefits administration including health insurance, voluntary benefits, retirement plans, and leaves of absences as assigned

Assist in the updating and maintenance of HRIS / time and labor systems
-
Provide education and coaching to employees and supervisors relating to time and labor, benefits, and company policies

Participate in the review and development of company policy and procedures.

Understand and comply with all of the principles established by the Rosecrance Corporate Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.

Qualifications/Skills:

Bachelor’s Degree in HR or other related field, preferred
-
Minimum of two years’ experience in Human Resources focused on payroll and/or benefits
-
Intermediate Windows-based including, Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, Internet Explorer and Outlook
-
Knowledge of HRIS Systems including Ultimate Workplace
-
Working knowledge of employment law, wage and hour laws and regulations, and EEO law
-
Ability to effectively interact with associates at all levels within and outside of the organization

Developed written, oral communication and presentation skills
-
Developed project management skills
-
Ability to adjust work schedule according to the business needs

Resourceful, highly organized, and able to prioritize
