POSITION SUMMARY
The Final Assembly Technician is responsible for ensuring that the chassis and bumper is built correctly, and any final steps of the production are completed. They will ensure that all the wires and hard build components are not below the minimum level for the build.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
All employees are required to support Rosenbauers Mission, Vision, and Values. The following are the essential duties of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Rosenbauer.
- Ensures that the fire apparatus chassis is built and functioning correctly.
- Builds bumper of the fire truck to meet specifications.
- Ensures that all the wires and hard build components are not below the minimum level for the build.
- Torques bolts to specific setting according to the build specifications.
- Adjusts the fluid levels to ensure that the fire apparatus is functioning properly.
- Performs adjustments to the alignment of the fire apparatus.
- Performs a running test of the fire apparatus to ensure that components are functioning properly.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the organization and our members.

Hand tools, power tools, and tape measure.

Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience:
- High school diploma/GED.
- Strong mechanical and technical ability required.
- 2 years mechanical experience preferred. Manufacturing experience preferred.

Language:
- Able to read and work from blueprints/spec books.
- Able to read and understand a tape measure accurately.
- Able to follow written and verbal directions.
Math:
- Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Computer:
- Able to perform simple computer tasks to obtain information/changes related to the build process and/or troubleshoot.

Abilities:
- Able to identify quality issues, recognize changes within the production process, and adjust as needed.
- Able to proficiently use a tape measure, hand tools, and power tools.
- Able to prioritize work and to multitask while adhering to deadlines.
- Able to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
- Able to understand and follow all safety policies to promote a safe working environment for all.
