RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION - CORE

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION:
Paint
- Responsible for the full cycle painting process (ie: cleaning, prepping, priming, painting, inspection, and packaging, etc.).
- Safely operates Assembly Shop, Machine Shop and Paint Shop machinery and equipment.
- Clean and prep industrial power transmission gearboxes and electrical motors for customer specific paint cycles.
- Performs minor machine maintenance including oiling machines, dies, or work pieces.
- Mask or tape off details and components to avoid contamination
- Paint and/or finish assembly pieces to meet customer’s expectations
- Coordinate clean up and packaging for Environmental Services pick-up such as paint booth filters.
- Responsible for proper mixture ratios of cleaners, primers and paints.
- Perform inventory control and levels of supplies, paints, etc. by maintaining regular communication with paint suppliers.
- Operate wide range of machines to include: spray guns, cranes, drills, sanders, etc.
- Coordinate with production and shipping for readiness to paint and package product.
- Understand the paint thickness requirements of each job.
- Distinguishes colors for color-coding purposes.
Assembly
- Assembles large and heavy parts to complete units or subassemblies.
- Performs a variety of specialized assembly operations.
- Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
- Performs visual quality inspection of product prior to and upon completion of assigned work.
- Uses samples, drawings, schematics, as well as written and verbal instructions to perform assembly.
- Uses hand tools such as long nose pliers, side cutter and soldering iron to perform work.
- Positions work piece against stops or aligns layout marks with die or blade.
- Pushes button or depresses pedal to activate machine.
- Observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction.
- Removers burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from work piece.
- Complete all Pre-control documentation.
- Perform inventory control, order equipment, parts, supplies, etc.
- Must be able to prioritize in a fast-paced working environment.
- Performs visual quality inspection of product prior to and upon completion of assigned work.
- Adhere to and understand all quality control procedures.
- Perform final quality checks prior to packaging product.
- Final packaging of all painted components as time allows.
- May load and unload materials, parts or products; stock to designated work areas; operate powered industrial lifts; pack products and may clean surface of machines and work areas, as needed.
- Keep a clean and organized work area.
- Any other duties as assigned.

- Required – High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Required – Minimum 0-4 years of work experience

- Required – Ability to read technical drawings
