AVP - Accounting

Position Summary

The Assistant Vice President (“AVP”) – Accounting will report directly to the Vice President – Controller. The AVP – Accounting will have critical daily, weekly, and monthly operating responsibilities as the first level manager responsible for all accounting related to the Servicing and MSR business segments of RoundPoint Mortgage Servicing Corporation.  The AVP will play a key role in ensuring that all transactions of the segments have been properly accounted for and accurately reflect the company's accounting policies.  This position will also be responsible for internal and external reporting including review and or preparation of accurate responses to the information requirements of state licensing entities and governmental agencies.  In addition to operational responsibilities, this individual will be an integral member of multiple project teams tasked with re-engineering the accounting and cash flow processes associated with the operation of the segments.

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage staff in the preparation of daily and monthly G/L entries, and execute assigned components of the monthly closing process
• Prepare monthly and quarterly reports and responses to information requests from state licensing entities and governmental agencies when applicable
• Assist with developing and evolving accounting processes, policies, and procedures
• Ensure that G/L accounts are reconciled and substantiated monthly. Directly responsible for researching and resolving issues working in collaboration with the appropriated accounting and operations staff as required
• Actively coach and interact with direct reports to promote professional growth and development
• Other projects & duties, as needed

Qualifications

Required:

• Four years’ degree with emphasis in finance / accounting
• Six or more years of accounting experience
• Knowledge of all aspects of accounting: G/L, reconciliations, A/P, A/R, Payroll, etc.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis in Excel is a critical requirement
