What are the responsibilities and job description for the Boiler Operator position at Rousselot?
Rousselot is seeking to hire a 1st or 2nd Class Fireman or 3rd Class Engineer to work as a full-time Boiler Operator in our Peabody, MA facility. This individual will monitor the power plant operations closely for any deviations from the acceptable range and handle all situations regarding steam generation and accessory equipment.

A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A BOILER OPERATOR
As a Boiler Operator, you are responsible for the total production maintenance in power plant areas. Using your knowledge of equipment in the power plant including air, low/high-pressure steam, hot water, and electrical systems, you are able to operate, service, and maintain the power equipment and systems.
You understand all applicable state, federal, local, D.E.P., E.G., and Rousselot licensing laws and regulations. This makes it easier to effectively communicate with production customers and operators that are using our services. Without our safety conscience, qualified, and knowledgeable operators, we wouldn't be able to meet production goals and ensure a safe working environment. You play an important role in our success!
QUALIFICATIONS
- Massachusetts' Second / First Class Fireman's License or Third Engineer's License
- Knowledge of state laws chapter 146 / C.M.R. 522 Mechanical Engineering A.S.M.E. codes
- One-year certificate from college or technical school OR at least 3 months related experience and/or training OR an equivalent combination of experience and education
- At least 3 years of experience with high-pressure boilers and controls related to power plant accessories
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
WORK SCHEDULE
The Rousselot plant operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This position requires day/night shift work on a rotating schedule including weekends.
