What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bookkeeper / Accountant position at Royal Publishing?
Accountant/Bookkeeper needed for local Peoria, Illinois business.
Accounting Degree and no less than 2 years of accounting experience preferred, but not necessary. Other desirable qualifications include excellent computer skills including Excel, good organizational skills, and dependability. Must have ability to multi-task and be a team player. This person must also have knowledge of payroll, accounts receivables and payables, as they will be asked to back-up those jobs on occasion.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Perform monthly account reconciliation along with reconciling all bank account statements, sales contest funds, petty cash accounts, credit cards, etc.
- Prepares and/or reviews monthly general ledger and prepares monthly financial statements entries
- Manages cash flow and prepares and maintains cash flow spreadsheets
- Assures that the company’s financial operations are in compliance with local, state, and federal laws and that appropriate safeguards are put in place and maintained with regards to security of all payroll and financial data
- Prepares monthly and quarterly tax returns, including payroll taxes and sales tax
- Liaison between company and insurance and 401k vendors and will be instrumental in investigating/reviewing new quotes as needed
- Prepares all necessary tax documentation which includes detailed fixed asset records and any support as requested by our outside CPA firm
- 25 hours per week - flexible schedule
Must be able to work in our Peoria, Illinois office - this is not a remote position
