Position Summary:
The Warehouse supervisor is responsible for establishing and maintaining shipping and receiving operations, completing documentation related to that function, as well as monitoring the position’s quality and cost standards. In addition, the position is responsible for accuracy of inventory counts, and location of products in frozen and dry warehouse locations.
This position oversees the department to attain company goals within quality specifications, on-time schedule, and in compliance with our plant and company policies. This person would provide leadership for overall activities and accountabilities of the warehousing, and inventory management systems. This position will be part of our food safety team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervises and coordinates the warehousing, and inventory or the plant.
- Provides leadership for the warehouse, distribution team relative to training, coaching, delegation of duties.
- Coordinates scheduling of employees to match warehousing needs while keeping overtime and budget in top of mind.
- Facilitates continuous improvement and operations to ensure performance goals such as quality, sanitation, food safety, grade yield, volume, recovery, and controllable costs are met or exceeded.
· Participates as a team member of assigned projects to meet company and factory objectives.
- Ensures safety precautions are followed by the team and trains team members on occupational safety including wearing appropriate PPE
· Ensures the interface with support personnel or groups is conducted in a participative manner that is conducive with operations goals and supports management.
- Review the incoming and outgoing shipments schedule and monitors the warehouse’s ability to process them.
- Oversees Famous repacking module entries and product movement in and out of warehouse to support production.
- Provides performance management, motivation and direction to the shipping warehouse employees.
- Receives incoming products and materials, including:
- Completion of incoming inspection testing, confirmation of certificate of conformance and reconciliation of receiving / purchase documentation.
Notification and/or delivery of incoming product to end user.
Documentation of each receipt (Packing Slip etc.) to support computer system entries.
Completion of daily receiving entries in computer system.
Distribution of receipts to purchasing office for filing.
- Oversees raw material and critical supply inventories: Maintenance and cleaning of inventory area, inventory organization and racking, inventory cycle counting and reporting, monthly inventory accounting, and reordering of shipping supplies.
Performs actual physical counts of raw material and tag controls as required.
Compares counts, actual to computer output.
- Oversees all inbound and outbound shipments at the Royal Warehouse:
- Preparation of sequentially numbered paperwork in Famous accounting system, management of packaging materials inventories, packaging of product to be shipped, and arrangement of transportation services.
Effective use of shipping software and understanding for summary reporting
Daily ensure inventory data is input for all inventory transactions to support real time inventory accuracy
- Responsible for physical inventory accuracy and completion of cycle and complete inventory counts.
- Operate forklift equipment in a safe manner as well as setting the expectations of the warehouse team to do the same.
- Load and unload inbound and outbound shipments as well as loading and unloading of good from storage racks.
- Performs general housekeeping, maintenance and organization of the freezers, dock and inventory areas: Hands on cleaning, maintenance, and organization.
- Monitors freezer temperatures and reports any changes or issues observed.
- Coordinates document distribution in a timely manner to appropriate departments.
