Advocating for kids in the foster care system

We are seeking exceptional candidates to join our team as Charity Advocates, where you'll work with a globally recognized charity of over 50 years, focused on making a meaningful impact on kids in the foster care system. Our organization is dedicated to creating advocacy centers so kids have a safe place to go after school, and benefit from mental and physical health services. Another one of our main ways we show support is by donating backpacks full of toiletries, school supplies, toys, etc. so kids can have their own belongings no matter where they go.
As a Charity Advocate, you will play a crucial role in engaging with the public, raising awareness of our cause, and inspiring people to donate. In this role on a daily basis you will be participating in various, local, in person events, both indoors and outdoors, where you will be speaking with potential donors, explaining our mission, and answering any questions they may have. The goal is to raise as many funds as possible for our cause, while having fun and making connections.
We are looking for candidates who are highly personable and comfortable speaking with a wide variety of people in public, and encouraging guests to donate. You must be excited about the role, and self motivated to hit donation goals. This is an entry level, in person role, and a great entry level sales role. Candidates applying must have their own transportation to and from events.
Responsibilities:
- Fundraising in various high foot traffic locations and events (indoors and outdoors) like markets, festivals, stores, and restaurants for our organization
- Having an ever growing knowledge on our organizations history, mission, and goals to answer questions from potential donors
- Approach and engage with a wide variety of guests on a daily basis
- Encourage guests to donate to our cause and explain where the funds will go
- Set up and take down event setup
- Participate in meetings to discuss and report how campaigns are doing
- Engage and brainstorm fundraising ideas

Requirements:
- Must have a high school diploma or GED (18 )
- Absolutely MUST have your own vehicle to go to and from work
- Customer service experience preferred
- Must be comfortable speaking with various individuals all day
- Must be comfortable encouraging people to donate money to the organization
- Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors
- Must be comfortable standing for multiple hours at a time
- Self motivated and able to hit individual and team goals
- Team players who thrive on a strong team-based environment
