The position: The Director of Engagement will develop and execute programs that deliver recognition and encourage high performance and teamwork, while embodying the values of diversity and inclusion. This leader will act as a hands-on strategic partner of culture, connection, and change management. Executing on projects and initiatives across multiple teams is an everyday requirement in this role.

 

The position supports communications related to associate recognition, corporate strategic initiatives, mergers/acquisitions, and special projects.

 

The successful candidate will act as a steward of our culture, reinforcing our mission and values and fostering two-way communication between the company and our associates. The position is responsible for recommending and executing best practices to help shape the experience and structure needed to optimize our culture, as well as monitoring and reporting on associate experience and engagement.

Responsibilities

Engagement and Recognition

 

  • Design, implement, and execution of associate engagement programs.
  • Oversee all associate award and recognition programs.
  • Create calendar/programming for associate engagement events/initiatives.
  • Conduct annual engagement surveys as well as other associate surveys as appropriate.
  • Develop methods to communicate survey results and in collaboration with HR, guide action planning with key stakeholders.
  • Utilize data from engagement surveys and other teammate feedback to provide programs, resources, and coaching to leaders and associates on strategies to build engagement and manage turnover.

 

Internal Communications

  • Leads internal communications strategies and plans that support overall business objectives.
  • Coordinates with key stakeholders to address significant organizational accomplishments and announcements.
  • Manages cross-dept line communications strategy and establish leadership messages that build culture & community.
  • Creates a team environment that encourages and rewards cooperation, and collaborative problem-solving and decision making.
  • Partners with marketing to create messaging and narrative that helps shape the company's story internally, especially the rollout of its mission, vision, and values.
  • Writes, edits, formats, publishes, and distributes employee communications, including one-off, weekly, monthly, and quarterly messages and publications.
  • Leads internal communications that align and engage internal RPM Living stakeholders.

 

Diversity and Inclusion  

  • Provide collaborative leadership, facilitation, and implementation of key initiatives to advance Diversity & Inclusion strategy through development and implementation of D&I strategies.
  • Drive the implementation-related actions, both strategic and day-to-day tactical, to embed D&I into the overall people strategy.
  • Operationalize D&I strategy through processes, systems, and tools to achieve scale by leading key stakeholders through the change management process.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university; Master’s degree from an accredited college/university preferred, or professional services experience.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in the diagnosing, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating strategic culture and engagement strategies.
  • Ability to create effective partnerships at all levels of the organization as a collaborative team player while successfully influencing peers and management using a professional demeanor and diplomatic skills.
  • Subject matter expert in culture and engagement.
  • Manage multiple high-level programs and projects.
  • Strong analytical skills, interpretation, and research skills.
  • Strong leadership qualities, strategic program management and organization effectiveness skills are essential.
  • Demonstrated proactive approach and ability to influence and communicate at all levels, as well as cross-functionally.
  • Experience in D&I program design, development, management, measurement and evaluation.
  • Ability to influence conversations that lead to transformation.
  • Excellent written communication skills with highly strategic approach to messaging, rollout timing, and communication channels.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%.
