What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supervisor - Pricing position at RR Donnelley & Sons?
Responsible for supervising the Estimating team to provide timely and accurate pricing. This includes managing and distributing workload, fulfilling company goals for service level agreements, and providing training, and performance reviews to ensure individual and department success.
Position Responsibilities:
- Provide all necessary estimating support to Sales and ASPs for high-dollar opportunities
- Determine whether a product can be produced by RRD or must be sourced
- Develop working files, capture specifications (including PDFs or Drawings), and calculate Rec Min Sell by determining the most economical method of manufacture and plant considering run quantity, storage, destination, and freight cost
- Work with manufacturing personnel to determine performance standards for unusual features and high volume.
- Calculate manufacturing hours for capacity.
- Obtain and calculate the cost of special materials
- Obtain special freight quotes
- Train new associates
- Identify and resolve problems/issues with existing estimates and specifications.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Understand how Rec Min Sell is created and used within the corporate structure.
- Extensive knowledge of all systems and formulas required for estimate entry and calculation of RMS.
- Requires Extensive manufacturing knowledge - encompassing multiple products, special features, and multiple methods of manufacture.
- Manage workload by prioritizing, delegating
- QA high dollar estimates
- Relay policies and procedures to the team.
- Promote an open and fair work environment. Develop estimator's strengths.
- Provide performance reviews, track errors, and monitor the need for training or expanding skill levels within the team.
- Work with other locations to develop new or improve current workflows.
- As a salaried position, the objective of this position is to fully respond to customer needs.
- As such, the successful candidate will be expected to fulfill the duties of the position which may include early or evening work, or completing work on weekends, as necessary.

- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively as a leader to minimize any misconceptions or misunderstandings
- Ability to plan, organize, direct and lead to meet deadlines and quote dates
- Must be capable of managing multiple projects under committed timelines
- Ability to make decisions quickly regarding effective manufacturing methods and managing multiple requests
- Ability to decide what issues must be escalated
- Bachelor's degree in Printing Technology or Business preferred with 5 years of experience
- OR equivalent experience to perform the job duties as listed
- Extensive knowledge of label products, systems, manufacturing capabilities, and techniques required
- Understanding of estimating and pricing rules and methods required
- Requires knowledge of advanced mathematical concepts, including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- PC and business software usage experience required
The national pay range for this role is $62100- $109200 / year. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location of the hired employee. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
