We are searching for a Corrections Community Service Field Coordinator who will be responsible for the supervision of a daily work crew in RS EDEN’s Sentence to Service Program. This is a great opportunity for those looking to wok in a criminal justice field. The Sentence to Service Program provides the criminal justice system with an alternative to traditional incarceration. It utilizes a work program where offenders are allowed to do public service work instead of serving jail or workhouse time. The Corrections Community Service Field Coordinator will assume all responsibility upon assignment of a client for daily supervision of that client's program. They will assure that the work is done properly, oversee and enforce program rules, and that appropriate behavior and work habits are observed. Projects are all public service jobs such as park maintenance. This job involves a high volume of driving and yard maintenance. The role will require 20 to 30 hours per week with flexible 10 hour days worked between Monday-Sunday.
Pay ranges starts at $20 per hour
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans and organizes work projects. Supervises and transports the crew to work sites. Assures that clients are working satisfactorily, are properly equipped, are following safety rules, following program rules, and observing appropriate dress and behavior.
- Maintains complete computer files of all daily work sites and client records.
- Coordinates with county intake person or probation officer to ensure maximum client completion and compliance.
- Monitors house activities while directly supervising resident actions and movements.
- Handles discipline of program residents in the event of major/minor program violations.
- Maintains security, safety, and sanitation of the facility in accordance with policy and any ordinances/laws pertaining to the facility. This includes conducting rounds of the facility on a regular basis.
- Conducts intakes for new residents, including obtaining background information, explanation of program rules and expectations, and orientation of the facility.
- Processes and oversees client medication(s) in accordance with facility medication policies and procedures.
- Exercises responsible communication with clients and staff including maintaining daily log, recording client data on bed check sheet, completing incident reports as needed, making appropriate telephone contacts, maintaining client confidentiality, and any other designated record keeping.
- Provides clients with guidance and support on an informal basis as needed. Serves as a liaison between clients and case managers, while serving as the ongoing contact to the clients.
- Assists food service staff in ordering supplies, making bag lunches, and supervising meals if applicable.
- Collects urinalysis samples (same sex clients) and perform random breath analysis test to assigned residential and nonresidential clients.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma/GED
- Current and valid driver's license, and a clean driving record
- 1 year of Landscaping experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field
- Experience with substance use treatment, criminal justice, or related field
- Working knowledge of court, probation/parole, and correctional systems
- Supervisory experience in a correctional, law enforcement, or construction/building trades situation
- Ability to resolve conflicts and maintain confidentiality
- Ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds with multiple individual and systemic barriers to success
