What are the responsibilities and job description for the Travel Demand Modeler position at RS&H?
The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Travel Demand Modeler to support our national Transportation Planning Consulting Practice.
Location: Flexible.
The Travel Demand Modeler will work in a highly flexible, team-oriented environment and must have excellent communication, strong data and analytical skills, proven travel demand modeling experience, and documentation skills. He or she will participate in the collection and analysis of data, technical analysis of transportation planning projects of varying size and scope, development of recommendations, and report and presentation development. The person will provide support to our clients on the state, regional, and local levels.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Urban and Regional Planning, Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited university
- Master’s Degree Urban and Regional Planning, Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited university preferred
- EIT and/or AICP Certification preferred
- 2-5 years’ experience performing travel demand modeling and transportation planning/engineering activities
- Proficiency with CUBE
- Experience with TransCAD, and VISUM
- Experience with computer applications, and/or programming related to travel demand modeling
- Experience with Python preferred
- Proficiency with ArcGIS
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
- Strong communication skills
- Business acumen and facilitation skills working with a broad set of clients and stakeholders
- Strong teamwork and project organization skills working on projects and with staff, likely across many offices and states
