What are the responsibilities and job description for the MS Dynamics Licensing Manager position at RSM?

The Microsoft Dynamics Licensing Manager to be the fundamental resource for both our customers as well as our internal consultants. Must be familiar with the Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain family of products but would also look to expand knowledge into Customer Engagement, Business Central and Power Platform as well. Must have expertise in license changes from existing Microsoft on premise CRM/ERP systems (AX, GP, NAV, SL and CRM) to online cloud-based solutions. This role will be working with customers to understand their user base and identify licensing solution(s) that would be most beneficial (favorable) for movement to the cloud. 

Essential Duties 

  • Act as technical expert on Microsoft Dynamics 365, both on premise and cloud, for Finance and Supply Chain,
  • Customer Engagement, Business Central and CP/NAV/SL family of products
  • Work with clients and RSM consultants to determine Microsoft Dynamics 365 product and level that best fit client needs
  • Consult with clients during the decision-making process
  • Provide technical expertise on Microsoft Dynamics 365 products for proposal development and execution of
    presentations/demonstrations including presales design 
  • Ground to Cloud Transitions
  • Work with clients and RSM consultants on ground to cloud transitions of Microsoft Dynamics 365 products utilizing technical expertise including recommendations on products, impact to licenses, ramifications, and sequencing of project 
  • Manage and maintain client license renewals
  • Adjust active licensing on monthly basis as needed based on client usage

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

TECHNICAL/SOFT SKILLS

REQUIRED

  • Strong communication skills (including grammar, spelling and correspondence/document layout) required 
  • Highly organized, accuracy and attention to detail, as well as the ability to follow directions are a must 
  • Ability to multi-task and continuously keep multiple responsibilities moving forward simultaneously 
  • Able to prioritize work flow, work independently as well as participate in a team effort is necessary 
  • Friendly, courteous, and customer-service focused 

PREFERRED

  • Experience driving business transformations and enabling adoption of new technologies across business units 
  • Good interaction and communication with business stakeholders 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of business executives, managers, and subject matter experts

EXPERIENCE

  • 2 years of Microsoft Dynamics AX/D365 Finance & Supply Chain licensing experience
  • 3 years of the Microsoft Dynamics family of products
  • Understanding of Microsoft licensing guides and incentives
  • Experience with driving Dynamics Software as a Service (SaaS) transformation 
  • Knowledge of AX, GP, NAV, SL and Dynamics CRM 
  • Business Central and/or Power Platform licensing expertise 
  • Working relationship with Microsoft helpful 

LEADERSHIP SKILLS

  • 2-4 years of prior leadership or supervision experience - Preferred
