OVERVIEW:
The Estimator is responsible for performing accurate take-offs and developing cost estimates on all types of electrical projects. The ideal candidate will have the ability to accurately estimate electrical jobs while working under pressure.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Evaluates customer Request for Proposal (RFP) documents for compliance with company design, scope and services standards
- Collaborates with and supports Preconstruction Manager design and pricing strategies
- Conceptually designs an electrical system in alignment with company design, scope and services
- Works with internal and external engineering team members to refine conceptual designs as needed
- Performs accurate quantity take-offs
- Estimates cost by analyzing the materials and labor needed to complete a project
- Applies historic cost data to current estimates to reduce variance between estimates and actual cost
- Reviews estimates with Estimating Manager
- Prepares and presents estimate documentation to Preconstruction Manager
- Collaborates with other estimators to estimate larger projects
- Participates in turnover meetings between Sales Department and Project Management to answer questions related to estimates
- Supports Preconstruction Managers during preconstruction phase of projects
- All other duties as assigned
WORK ENVIROMENT:
The Estimator spends most of their time in an office environment. The office is an open and collaborative space where work is performed both independently and with the team to ensure that customer requests are met.
REPORTING STRUCTURE:
This position reports directly to the Estimating Manager.

LOCATION:
Construction Innovations facilities and offices are located in Sacramento, CA and Mather, CA.
COMPENSATION:
Construction Innovations pays hourly/salary rates commensurate with each employee’s knowledge, experience and skill level.

Qualifications
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- At least 3 years of experience estimating or performing related activities in the construction and/or electrical industries
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred
- Experience in renewable energy, substation and transmission/distribution is highly preferred
- General product and product installation knowledge
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Experience using software programs such as LiveCount, Bluebeam and AccuBid
- Digital takeoff experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Regularly sit, stand, and walk for long and short distances.
- Required to hear with or without correction to be able to interpret and receive information and directions.
- Regularly required to communicate: verbal and written, in order to describe and explain detailed, important, and accurate instructions.
- Occasionally lift and/or move material up to 25lbs.
- Occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Noise level is usually moderate.
